Because I had accumulated many years worth of items, I knew it would be difficult to liquidate them from my existing home in my time frame without taking a major loss. And I did not have the time (or desire) to take out ads, shoot photos, describe items, run an estate sale, upload photos onto the internet, arrange pickups, haggle prices, etcetera. I met with the owner of Consignment Genie, Bert Ogborn, and he reviewed my lengthy list of items needing liquidation. I would describe Consignment Genie’s marketing method as a “blitz”. They took out ads in the local paper. They placed full color flyers around town. They even arranged and ran a very successful Estate Sale. They took high resolution photos and used them in ads on mediums such as Craig’s List and Ebay. They fielded all calls, including arranging pickup and delivery of all items. And, most important, they kept in constant contact with me via email and phone with questions, suggestions, and requesting my feedback on offers on items. Their operation provided me and my family true peace of mind during this hectic time. The items they were able to liquidated is very lengthy, so I’ll just list the a few. They were able to sell my riding lawn tractor, sand blaster, air compressor, work bench, and electric generator. They also found buyers for my bike mount, grinder, stereo system, freezer, washer and dryer set, fishing rods, nautical supplies and scuba gear (sold to a guy in Guam). I even had a Jeep I had been trying to sell for several weeks without success. Consignment Genie listed my Jeep in their ad. What a relief it was to find a buyer for my Jeep from one of those who came to the Estate Sale. The ‘crown jewel’ of my liquidation was a large Dune Buggy that I desperately wanted to sell. But with November snow coming, I knew it would be difficult. Bert arranged for a national ad and found a buyer in Kentucky. He worked very hard to secure the funds and ended up getting me more money for it than I had paid for it originally. I would heartily recommend Consignment Genie to anyone who has an estate, warehouse, motor vehicles, watercraft or other unique items to liquidate. I am certain you will be impressed with their attention to detail, willingness to go the extra mile, honesty, integrity and true desire to get you the most money for your items. John A.
